Greensprings U13 Team Shines at NFL Flag Africa Championship in Cairo

The Greensprings School Lekki Under-13 Flag Football team made a powerful impression at the inaugural NFL Flag Africa Championship, held in Cairo, Egypt from June 20th to 23rd, 2025. Proudly representing Nigeria on the international stage, the young athletes showcased extraordinary talent, discipline, and teamwork, earning recognition both on and off the field.

The prestigious event brought together top youth teams from across the continent, offering an elite platform to highlight Africa’s growing interest and excellence in flag football, a fast-growing non-contact version of American football. Competing against some of the best U13 teams in Africa, Greensprings squad held their own, demonstrating resilience, unity, and competitive spirit.

One of the standout moments of the championship came when Oghenerukevwe Dafiadje was named Most Valuable Player (MVP), a testament to her skill, determination, and the high-quality training offered at Greensprings School.

Another highlight was cheering on Nigeria’s men’s and women’s national flag football teams as they secured gold medals at the IFAF Africa Flag Football Championships. Following the win, Greensprings students joined a meet-and-greet with the national players, a moment that sparked immense pride and inspiration among the young athletes.
