The Greensprings Football Camp is an annual Easter programme designed to develop young football talent through structured technical training, mentorship, and education. Now in its 12th edition, the camp has trained thousands of children and has become one of Nigeria’s most recognised grassroots football development initiatives.

About the Greensprings Football Camp

The camp runs for five intensive days, offering a well-organised programme for boys and girls aged 5 to 17. Participants are trained by a diverse and highly experienced coaching team.

For the last 10 years (the camp has had a total of 11 editions), Nwankwo Kanu and Victor Ikpeba, have also made guest appearances, further elevating the camp’s credibility and offering children the chance to learn directly from national icons..

The football drills cover shooting, ball control, passing, tactical positioning, tackling, defending, and goalkeeping fundamentals, ensuring a complete player development experience.

VICTOR IKPEBA

He played for top-tier clubs like Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, and Real Betis, and was a key player for the Nigerian national team, winning the 1994 African Cup of Nations.

WESTBROM COACHES

Coaches from the Dutch Football Association and the English Football League (EFL) Championship. These coaches are skilled at working and training children and Teenagers

How GFC has transformed lives


We have trained about 2,300 children in the last 10 editions of the camp. The International coaches we invite have trained over 200 Lagos State coaches, who have gone on to impact the lives of children at the grassroots levels and beyond.

We have awarded full academic scholarships to 13 children to study at Greensprings School. Four alumni of the football camp are playing professionally in football clubs in Europe, while learning alongside. Five alumni of football camp have featured in the Under-17 team of Nigeria at some point, with 2 of them (Jubril Azeez and Light Eke) currently in the squad.
