Learning Support Centre

The Learning Support centre takes care of students with special needs and learning challenges such as Autism, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder), ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder), Dyslexia, as well as students who need therapy such as speech language therapy and occupational therapy. The students attend classes with other students in the regular classes which empowers them for social interaction

Reinforcement is provided for students who have challenges in various subjects and are finding it difficult to cope in the regular classroom.

The unit comprises professionals such as special educationists, psychologists (educational and child), speech language therapist, occupational therapist and vocational teachers.

The ratio of students to teacher is 5:1

The student’s mental and reading age is ascertained. This is the basis for developing an Individualised Educational Plan (IEP) and/or Individualised Behaviour plan (IBP). This is unique to each student and is reviewed every six months. Students are also admitted into the unit for extension and remedial classes.
